I spend a lot of my time at Mavidea searching for solutions that solve problems. Sometimes the problems are focused on security – protecting data from outside and inside misuse; sometimes they are focused are increasing worker efficiency – how can I make the computer network so stable that users can keep working and be more productive. Sometimes customer problems are based around the fear of the unknown – what if there is a disaster? What if there is a theft?
I’ve always found it interesting that no matter what industry our customers are in, they always have this same set of common worries. Oh, don’t get me wrong – there are plenty of IT challenges out there, but in the end, the solutions almost always come down to a properly designed and configured server.
I bring all of this up because just the other day I stumbled across an article at HP.com about servers. Mavidea sells IBM, HP, and Dell hardware (although we lean towards IBM for quality servers) depending on what is going to work best for our clients. I think this article does a wonderful job of describing the role that servers play in the office, and how they are different than desktops (I get that question a lot). So read on, or click the link to go the original site. Either way I know you’ll learn a lot!
