Reverse Paranoid

Today’s video came up with my new favorite term.

First, he starts with an old favorite:

“Just because I am paranoid doesn’t mean the world is out to get me.”  The other version of this is “If it weren’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all.”

And then he coins my new favorite phrase “reverse paranoid” to describe an optomist.

Instead of thinking about how bad things always happen to you, think about becoming a reverse paranoid.

Just forget about all the small stuff that didn’t seem to go your way and focus on the good things.

Next time you catch a green light, think to yourself “man, this always happens to me”.

Today when you get in to the office, think to yourself “I must be the luckiest person around, I have a great job and a great place to work.”

Next time you hug your significant other, think “why does all the good stuff always happen to me”.

Think about how different your day would go if you said things and thought like this.  Think it would make a difference in your life?

I know it will.
