Miracles

For today’s post, I am going to piggy back off of Dan’s email from Friday (excellent work by the way, Mr. Woodman).

I was looking for inspiration for today’s email and found this quote from CS Lewis:

Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see.

When I found it, I thought of Dan’s email encouraging us all to celebrate.

All of the reasons he talked about for celebrating could be listed or thought of as miracles written in small letters for each one of us.

Think of your children….little miracles.

Think of your spouse and the fact that he/she not only puts up with you but actually loves you…..that’s a miracle (at least in my case).

Think of your friends that stick by you….another small miracle.

Smiling yet?  I hope so.  As they say in your favorite infomercial, “BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!”  The best part of this quote is that the ordinary miracles we see are a retelling in small letters of the larger miracles going on everyday.

Think about that.

The love you feel for your kids is a small retelling of the larger story of mankind.  The never-ending story of parents love for their children and the desire for a better life for their kids.

The love you feel for your spouse is a grain of sand on a beach full of couples whose love run deeper than the nearby ocean.

The friends that stick by you no matter what are but a small retelling of the old, old story of men and women putting others above themselves throughout history.

And it goes on and on.  Think of any small miracle you can imagine until you get a smile on your face.  Then think of the large letters that the story of this miracle is also told in.

Make it a great week.
