Life begins when you do!

I received an email with the above title and thought I would share some of the contents.

“Between the quote marks of our lives are phrases like these: “When things slow down…when I finish my degree…when I get certified…as I acquire a deeper knowledge base…when I have kids…when the kids are grown…when I get well…when I marry…when I divorce…when I retire…when I get that promotion, that raise, that job, that house, that whatever the fill-in-the blank is for your specific postponing of life…”

The author speaks of changing her life by changing the way she thought about her goals.  Instead of saying “one day, I want to be an artist” she started saying “I am an artist”.

She speaks of living on purpose.  Not just going along and hoping that your goals will accidentally happen while you are in the middle of the rest of your life.

Think about your own goals.  What can you change your thinking about?

Instead of trying to squeeze exercise into your life, start calling yourself a fitness person.

Instead of planning on losing weight after x happens, start saying “I wear x waist size.”

Your life begins when you do and since every moment isn’t guaranteed, we might as well get started today.

Make it a great day.
