“Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly until you can learn to do it well”
– Zig Ziglar
As we start a new year, I thought this quote from Zig was perfect. All of those New Year’s resolutions, all of our goals at Mavidea for 2011 are worth doing poorly (my version is imperfectly) until we can learn to do them well.
Zig’s real message here is one of continuous improvement. One of continually working on yourself and growing as a person so that you can learn to do it well.
We are at a point that we need to focus on learning and growing. We need to get better every day so that we can become the company we are capable of becoming.
Think about your personal goals too. Is there anything on your list that is worth doing poorly until you can learn to do it well.
Need to exercise in a boring, goofy way for a while before you launch into P90X?
Need to read an easy book or two to get you started on your new reading plan?
Need to keep your food choices simple to start in order to learn how to really stick to your new diet?
The final note I will make in response to Zig’s quote is that there is one other implied element that is really important. GET STARTED TODAY! Don’t wait. Anything worth doing is worth starting on now.
